How Many Weeks Until September 2027 New Moon?

September 2027 New Moon falls on Thursday, September 30, 2027 — a Thursday. As of today that is 342 days, or 48 weeks and 6 days. The table below lists every "weeks to go" milestone between now and the date, so you can work backwards from the day itself instead of counting forward from today.

Why the week count moves the way it does

Weeks are the unit people actually plan in. Deadlines, notice periods and rotas run in weeks, which is why a week count tends to be more useful than a raw day count once you are more than a fortnight out. Note that the two figures answer slightly different questions: "how many weeks" is full weeks only, while "weeks and days" keeps the remainder.

About September 2027 New Moon

The September 2027 new moon falls at 02:37 UTC on September 30, 2027, at 6°43' Libra. The Moon sits between Earth and Sun, so its dark side faces us: no Moon visible for about a day on either side.

A new moon in Libra is the traditional planting moment of the month — the sky's blank page. Anything begun in the days around it shares the sign's flavor, and the intentions you set now come to full light at the Libra full moon six months later.
